A contemporary kitchen redesign
If you sense an upscale yet comfortingly familiar vibe in this redesigned kitchen in Melbourne’s bayside, you're correct. “Our palette was inspired by the simplicity of traditional Burberry plaid: warm, chalky beige, chocolate, and bronze,” explains interior designer Alexandra Brownlow, who collaborated on the project with colleague Kirsten Dahl-Feathers.

This colour scheme is perfect for the Federation-era home, implemented in various elements, from creamy Taj Mahal marble countertops and backsplash to the antique bronze range hood, statement wall sconces, and custom walnut-stained joinery. With its seamless flow, ample workspace, and state-of-the-art appliances, this kitchen is a true entertainer’s delight with a fashionable edge. See more images of the Cecil Street house.
